GROUP HOSPITALITY AT THE MINNESOTA STATE FAIRTRAVEL TOGETHER! Groups arriving at the fair by bus may use the University of Minnesota Transitway and avoid traffic. Plus, your bus parking is free! TIME TO PLAN! PLAY TOGETHER! Our hospitality staff has a variety of resources to make your day at the fair even more fun! We can help you organize a fairgrounds scavenger hunt or a trivia contest, provide self-guided tour maps for the fair’s beautiful gardens and tree sculptures or help you plan your activities with a sample itinerary. We also provide daily entertainment and activity schedules so you won’t miss a thing! Most exhibit buildings are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. For early arrivals, there is plenty of activity in the Livestock area as animals are groomed and readied for judging. For livestock judging schedules, pick up a Where and When to See the Animals brochure at any information booth. Detailed Daily Schedules are now available for download CLICK HERE. PARTY TOGETHER! Get your group together at the Blue Ribbon Picnic Area! Overlooking the Mighty Midway, this tented area can handle up to 500 guests, rain or shine. A great place for company picnics, appreciation dinners or family celebrations! SAVE TOGETHER! Gate admission tickets purchased prior to opening day are always a bargain! Grandstand tickets are discounted by $2 each if 25 tickets or more are purchased to any concert event. To purchase admission or Grandstand tickets call the State Fair Box office at (651) 288-4467. SHOP TOGETHER! The bigger the group, the bigger the savings! The State Fair Blue Ribbon Bargain Book has 100 coupons worth over $500 in savings on food, merchandise and attractions at the fair. Pass the books around and let everyone clip their favorite coupons or give the books out as prizes or gifts! Books are available wherever pre-fair tickets are sold for only $4; during the fair the price is $5. JOIN IN TOGETHER! Free admission and a free t-shirt are available to everyone in your group if they lend a hand to the children at “Little Farm Hands!” Groups of 15-25 volunteers are needed in four-hour shifts to guide the kids through this hands-on exhibit that teaches the agricultural process from farm to market. “Day of Volunteers” sponsorship opportunities are also available with additional benefits.
