How big will the giant pumpkin be? In the Vegetable & Potato competition, exhibitors contend for top prize in categories such as standard vegetable and potato categories, decorated squash and pumpkins and the iconic “giant” vegetable contests.

Descriptions of each competition and entry rules are in the premium book, which will be available in May.

REGISTRATION

  • Opens: Monday, May 5
  • Closes: Thursday, Aug. 7, 4:30 p.m.

EXHIBIT DELIVERY & RETURN

  • Delivery:
    • Giant Pumpkin Contest and Largest Vegetable or Potato (if over 25 pounds): Wednesday, Aug. 20, 4-7 p.m.
    • Potatoes: Thursday, Aug. 21, staged by 9 a.m.
    • Vegetable Group One: Thursday, Aug. 21, staged by 9 a.m.
    • Braided Garlic and Onion Ropes, Largest Vegetable or Potato (if under 25 pounds), Container Gardens (classes 995-999): Thursday, Aug. 21, staged by 9 a.m.
    • Vegetable Group Two: Sunday, Aug. 24, staged by 9 a.m.
    • Vegetable Group Three: Wednesday, Aug. 27, staged by 9 a.m.
    • Vegetable Group Four: Saturday, Aug. 30, staged by 9 a.m.
    • Pepper Ristra: Thursday, Aug. 21, staged by 9 a.m.
    • Home Garden Collection: Sunday, Aug. 24, staged by 9 a.m. or Saturday, Aug. 30, staged by 9 a.m.
    • Decorative Pumpkins and Squash: Thursday, Aug. 21, or Wednesday, Aug. 27, staged by 9 a.m.
  • Return:
    • Monday, Sept. 1, 8-9 p.m. (only items entered in Largest Vegetable or Potato, Giant Pumpkin Contest, Decorative Pumpkins and Squash, Pepper Ristra and Container Gardens classes)
